DILLON, Mont. – UMW athletics has another big week ahead with four basketball games and indoor track competing at the Bobcat Challenge at Montana State University. The Bulldog men's and women's basketball teams will host a pair of home basketball games on Thursday as they host Carroll College at home.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The UMW Women's Basketball team is on a roll, winning the last twelve straight games. The Bulldogs are 17-2 overall and 5-1 in Frontier Conference play and just moved up in the latest NAIA polls to No. 12. They will first take on the No. 18 ranked Carroll College for the second time this season. The Bulldogs traveled up to Helena on Dec. 1 and fell to Carroll 72-61 in the first Frontier matchup of the season. The Fighting Saints are now 14-5 overall this season and are also 5-1 in conference play. They are led in scoring by Jamie Pickens who is averaging 15.2 points per game.
The Bulldog women will then hit the road for a matchup with the University of Providence Argos this upcoming Saturday. The Argos are 11-8 this season and are 1-5 in conference. The Bulldogs ran through the Argos back on Jan. 5 at home by a final score of 79-49. The Argos are currently led in scoring by Reed Hazard as she is averaging 11.1 points per game.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
The UMW men's basketball team goes into the week ahead with an overall record of 8-11 and 3-3 in Frontier Conference play. They will begin this week with a matchup against Carroll College at home on Thursday evening. The last time the two teams faced, Carroll took the win 76-65 despite being all tied up with the Bulldogs with just six minutes remaining in the game. Carroll enters the contest 8-9 overall and 2-4 in Frontier play. They are currently led by Andrew Cook who is on average scoring 17.1 points per game.
Following Thursday's home contests, the Bulldogs will be traveling to Great Falls, Mont. to take on the University of Providence Argos. The Argos downed the Bulldogs just two weeks ago in a one-point victory at home. The Argos have won two straight games and are 10-9 overall and are led in scoring by Kenny Curtis who is averaging 14.1 points per game.

INDOOR TRACK
The Bulldog Indoor Track team will be traveling to Bozeman, Mont. for the Bobcat Challenge this Saturday. The event will be hosted in the Worthington Arena by Montana State University. This is the second meet that the Indoor Track team has on their schedule for the season.
