Sweeney Ties Career High in 102-66 Beat Down of Blue Hawks

DILLON, Mont. — The RV Bulldog women's basketball team downed the Dickinson State Blue Hawks (0-2) this evening by a score of 102-66. The Bulldogs now advance to 3-0 on the season.

Jordan Sweeney tied her career high of 31 points after she racked up a whopping 20 points in the first half alone.

"We had a great turnaround game after last night's shooting performance. Shot a lot better and we played some good team ball," Head Coach Britt Cooper said.

How It Happened
Montana Western came out firing on all cylinders, racking up a quick 26-11 lead in the first quarter after Sweeney totaled an impressive 14 points. Payton Hagy capped the quarter with a three from deep behind the arc, marking the final tally for the quarter at 29-12.

Shainy Mack and Joelnell Momberg combined for a pair of threes in the Bulldogs race to 41-14 in the second frame.

UMW would go on to shoot 14 of 20 in the quarter for a team percentage of 70 percent and season high 34 points in the quarter.

Dickinson State outscored UMW in the third quarter 18-15, their lone quarter scoring advantage of the night.

The Bulldogs broke the 100-point threshold following a free throw from Keke Davis with 1:55 left in the game. Davis would add another two points to the board before the Bulldogs finished the game out 102-66.

Notables
  • Montana Western surpassed the 100-point margin in a game for the first time since the 2019-20 season when the Bulldogs downed Yellowstone Christian College 117-35.
  • Sweeney tied her career high of 31 points after she racked up a whopping 20 points in the first half alone. She also added seven assists, five steals, and four rebounds.
  • Mack was two points shy from hitting her career-high mark. She put up 21 points while adding three assists and three steals.
  • Maddy Moy brought in seven rebounds and put up 14 points.
  • Davis added 12 points and four rebounds.
Up Next
The Bulldogs will take a week off from action and will get back in motion next Friday Nov. 10 against the No. 11 ranked Lewis-Clark State Warriors. Tip-off is set for 6:30 pm.
