DILLON, Mont. — The No. 15 Bulldog Women's Basketball team finished out the regular season with a huge 68-45 victory over the No. 22 ranked Rocky Mountain College. With the victory, the Bulldogs finish conference play with a 12-3 record and an overall 24-4 record heading into the Frontier Conference tournament.
"I loved our energy as a group from start to finish. I usually don't get a good feeling in warmups, but tonight they seemed energized and focused. I thought that bled over onto the court. Super happy for Mesa and Brynley to close out in style and excited to see what we can do in the post season." Head Coach

How It Happened
Brynley Fitzgerald and
Shainy Mack put the Bulldogs on the board to start the game two minutes in. Rocky Mountain answered by taking a 5-4 lead with 5:09 in the first quarter.
Tied at 8,
Payton Hagy hit a three-pointer and
Kyla Momberg followed with a layup to give the Bulldogs a 13-8 edge heading into the second quarter.
The Bulldogs hit their stride in the second quarter, outscoring the Battlin' Bears 20-11 behind a 56.3 shooting percentage
.
Rocky got out to a quick start, buying back a quick three points to cut the Bulldog lead to 11.
Mesa King answered back with a layup on an assist from
Jordan Sweeney, pushing the Bulldog lead to 35-22.
Across the final two minutes of the third, UMW pulled ahead behind a 7-2 run to take a 52-29 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Fitzgerald led the Bulldogs down the stretch after adding another eight in the final ten minutes and scoring the final bucket of the game to win 68-45.

- The Bulldogs were shooting 45.6 from the field and recorded 11 steals as a team in tonight's matchup.
- Brynley Fitzgerald surpassed 500 points this season after leading the Bulldogs tonight with 23 points, four rebounds, and three steals. She was also perfect from the free throw line, going 9-9.
- Fitzgerald also became the second all-time leading scorer in Bulldog Women's Basketball history after hitting 1684 points in her career tonight, passing Sammi Bignell who played for the Bulldogs in 2010-2014 and accumulated 1681 points.
- Shainy Mack added 10 points for the Bulldogs and picked up three boards and two steals.
- Mesa King led the Bulldogs on the boards with nine rebounds.

The Bulldogs secured the No. 2 seed heading into the Frontier Conference tournament next weekend. They will take on the highest remaining seed following Sunday's tournament games on Monday Feb. 27 at the Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls, Mont. Game time is to be determined.
