Bulldog Women Fall Short in Battle of Top 25 Teams

DILLON, Mont. — The Bulldog Women's Basketball team gained their third conference loss with tonight's defeat by the No. 11 Carroll College with a final score of 69-60. The Bulldogs are now 21-4 on the season and 9-3 in Frontier play.

How It Happened
The Saints got off to a hot start, taking an 11-4 lead over the Bulldogs in the first four minutes of the game. Brynley Fitzgerald drained a three to cut the Carroll lead down to just one.

Carroll quickly answered by going on a 9-0 run that stretched into the second quarter. The Bulldogs were unable to answer as they continued to struggle behind a mere 21.4 percent shooting percentage across the quarter.

Carroll's Jamie Pickens added 20 points, helping Carroll to take a lead of 36-21 over the Bulldogs at the half.

UMW came out fighting in the second half, holding the Saints to just 10 points in the third quarter. Jordan Sweeney hit a jump shot with 19 seconds remaining in the third to bring the Bulldogs back within striking distance.

Fighting to get back in the game, the Bulldogs battled back and forth across the fourth quarter.

Fitzgerald hit back to back threes with under 20 seconds to cut into the Saints lead, however it was not enough as the Saints took the game 69-60.
