AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly known as CoSIDA, released the Academic All-America basketball teams Wednesday morning. Montana Western forward Brynley Fitzgerald was named First Team Academic All-America.

Fitzgerald, a senior from Dillon, Mont., currently boasts a 4.0 grade-point average while majoring in Elementary Education at Montana Western. This season, Fitzgerald has quickly rose to become the second all-time leading scoring in Montana Western women's basketball history. She has accumulated 1783 points thus far as a Bulldog, leading UMW this season with an average of 18.2 points per game, 6.9 rebounds per game, and shooting 43.5 percent from the field. Fitzgerald earned Frontier Conference Co-Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors.
