Bulldogs Win Third Straight in 104-66 Win Over Maine-Fort Kent

DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western men's basketball team (7-2) took down the Maine at Fort Kent Bengals this evening in a 104-66 rout.

The Bulldogs are now 7-2 this season and have won three straight games heading into the Cactus Classic.

How It Happened
The Bengals were the first to take an edge in the game, going up five points after UMFK's Jordan Guerrero hit a triple with 12 minutes on the clock. Alan Kane answered with a three and Jacob Ankeny added a pair from the charity stripe to tie the game at 18.

The Bulldogs picked up the pace and hit their stride as they took a 12-2 scoring run midway through the first half to lead 33-26.

Western's Jacksen Burckley capped the first half with back-to-back threes to send Western into the half break up 50-36 after shooting 52.6 percent from the field and outrebounding the Bengals by seven boards.

The Bulldogs continued to build upon their lead, opening up the second half on a 14-2 run and going 6-7 from the field. Jalyn Stepney would lead the run with a pair of triples from behind the arc.

After UMFK added three to the board, the Bulldogs continued to go on a tear and hold UMFK to just 30.3 percent from the field on their way to a 104-66 win over the Bengals.
