Bulldog Cross Country Heads to Nebraska for Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic

DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western men's and women's cross-country teams travels to Ashland, Neb. Saturday to compete in the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic, hosted by Doane University. The meet marks the final regular-season competition before the Frontier Conference Championships.

SCHEDULE
Women's 6k – 9 a.m. MT/ 10 a.m. CT
Men's 8k – 9:45 a.m. MT/ 10:45 a.m. CT

LAST TIME OUT
The Western men's team finished sixth and the women finished 11th at the Yellowjackets/ Battlin' Bears Open Oct. 10.

Brant Heiner clocked a 27:02.2.1 to finish 35th out of 103 competitors in the men's 8k. Olivia Heiner ran a 24:32.3 to place 28th out of 76 runners in the women's 6k.

CONSISTENCY IS KEY
Olivia Heiner has been the top women's runner for UMW in each race this season. She has placed in the top 50 at all four meets, including a season-best 28th at the Yellowjackets/ Battlin' Bears Open.

DYNAMIC DUO
Brant Heiner and Harrison Silverio have been the top two men's runners for Western this season. Brant Heiner has been the top men's finisher on three occasions and took second once while Silverio has taken the top spot once and finished second three times.

HITTING THEIR STRIDE
Every Western men's runner earned a season-best in the 8k at the Yellowjackets/ Battlin' Bears Open.

ON YOUR MARK… SET…
Competing on the women's side for Montana Western are Olivia Heiner, Justene Santi, Ashley Murnion, Kylee Wyatt, and Madison Faulkner.

For the men's team, Brant Heiner, Harrison Silverio, Cael Thilmony, Tristan Von Bargen, and Wyatt Yeager will take the course.

MEET THE COMPETITION
The field consists of 34 teams from across the NAIA, including Bellevue, Dakota State, Dickinson State, and Montana Western from the Frontier Conference.

LOOKING AHEAD
Following the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic, the Bulldogs will have two weeks to prepare for the 2025 Frontier Conference Championships (11/7).
