Maclain Burckley Earns Frontier Conference Special Teams Player of the Week

HELENA, Mont. – Montana Western kicker Maclain Burckley was named Erck Hotels/ Frontier Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week after an impressive performance at Simpson Oct. 25.

This marks his second Player of the Week honor this season (also named Special Teams Player of the Week Sept. 22)

"Maclain has been getting better and better all season," head coach Ryan Nourse said. "We have total faith in him. It was a tough day to kick and he dominated it."

Burckley had a perfect outing in No. 20 Montana Western's 65-0 victory over Simpson, going 8-of-8 on PATs and 3-of-3 on field goals.

The Billings, Mont., native hit a 55-yard field goal just before half time, which is the longest by any kicker in the Frontier Conference this season (besting the previous of 47, also held by Burckley) and third-longest in the NAIA.

The redshirt-freshman has gone 8-of-11 on FGs this season, and has made six over 30 yards. He has also made 32 PATs, including 10 in a row.

Montana Western is back in Bulldog Stadium this week as they welcome Eastern Oregon Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. MT.
