Palandri and Burckley Earn Frontier Conference Recognition

HELENA, Mont. – Montana Western's Michael Palandri and Maclain Burckley picked up Erck Hotels/ Frontier Conference Football Player of the Week Honors, the league office announced Monday.
 
Frontier Conference Offensive Player of the Week – Michael Palandri
 
Palandri showed off in his final regular-season game for the Bulldogs, throwing for 423 yards and eight touchdowns in No. 19 Western's 66-14 senior-day victory over Arizona Christian.
 
His eight touchdown passes are the most in a single game in program history, breaking the previous record of six set in 1993 by Jason Truman.
 
The Maple Valley, Wash., native connected on 19-of-24 passes (79.2 percent). He launched a 70-yard touchdown pass to increase UMW's lead to 21-7 in the first quarter.
 
Palandri also added 46- and 54-yard touchdown passes and successfully completed a two-point conversion.
 
He tossed TD passes to seven different Bulldog receivers in the game. He also rushed for 16 yards.
 
This marks his first Player of the Week honor this season and fifth of his career.
 
 Frontier Conference Special Teams Player of the Week – Maclain Burckley
 
Burckley drained a 46-yard field goal and went 7-of-7 on PATs in the win over ACU.
 
The Billings, Mont., native was responsible for 10 of the Bulldogs 66 points.
 
He has nailed three field goals over 45 yards this season, including a 55-yarder which is third-longest in the NAIA this season.
 
Against the Firestorm he averaged 53.0 yards per kickoff and 36.0 yards per punt
 
This is Burckley's third Player of the Week honor of his career, with all three coming this season.
