Bulldog Women’s Cross-Country Takes Fifth, Men Place Seventh at Yellowjackets/Battlin’ Bears Open

BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana Western women's cross-country team placed fifth and the men finished seventh at the Yellowjackets/Battlin' Bears Open Friday.

"Both our men's and women's teams had strong races with a lot of people running PRs," head coach Taylor Grove said. "I think we went really smart going out a little slower than past races and moving up throughout the race. Overall, I think we ran well as a team too, grouping up and running with teammates."

Natalee Stevens clocked a 23:58.3 to take 11th out of 79 runners in the women's 6k.

It marks the highest finish of her young collegiate career and third time as the women's teams' top finisher this season.

Ryker Zuffelato was the top men's finisher, posting a 27:38.4 to place 37th out of 97 runners.

It is the third-straight meet that Zuffelato has been the highest finisher for the men's team.

Justene Santi (24:46.8, 27th), SheaLee Novak (25:40.2, 36th), Madison Lohmeyer (26:11.4, 42nd), Kaelyn Sangray (26:52.9, 46th), Tiara Norris (24:47.7, 54th), Taylor Gable (28:04.1, 58th), Cadence Cameron (29:17.6, 64th), and Kylee Wyatt (34:38.1, 73rd) all crossed the finish line for the women's team.

Gavin Jasper (27:43.8, 40th), Noah Rovente (28:09.5, 46th), Brody Henry (28:45.7, 53rd), Tristan Von Bargen (29:11.4, 60th), Blake Olson (29:35.1, 66th), Taylor Graham (30:03.6, 72nd), and Mason Lynch (32:48.6, 87th) round out the men's 8k finishers.
