DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western women's basketball program (10-12, 8-10 FC) handled business against Dickinson State (6-16, 4-14 FC) with an 80-56 victory Saturday evening.
The Bulldogs held just a four-point lead at the half, but a 30-point third frame put the game well out of reach of the visitors.
"It's very hard to win games in our league and for us to get two at home is really impressive," head coach
Ryan Sullivan said. "We played really well offensively on the weekend and had great contributions from everyone that played."
STAT BREAKDOWN
UMW shot 54.2 percent (32-59) from the field, 33.3 percent (7-21) from downtown, and 69.2 percent (9-13) from the foul line.
Western registered 34 rebounds, 16 assists, nine steals, and four blocks.
The Bulldogs posted 42 points in the paint, 15 points off turnovers, eight second-chance points, and 43 bench points.
LEADERBOARD
Bailee Sayler led all players with 21 points.
Kyle Pancost (12),
Keke Davis (12), and
Tayva Phillips (10) were also in double figures for the Dawgs.
Pancost registered game highs in both rebounds (nine) and blocks (three).
Lund dished out a game-best five assists.
Phillips and
Mila Hawk each snagged two steals.

GAME SUMMARY
The opening frame was evenly matched between both teams, and Dickinson State led by one, 15-14, after 10 minutes.
The visitors increased their advantage to as many eight over the first five minutes of the second quarter, but the Bulldogs pulled back into the lead 30-26 by the halftime whistle.
UMW shot 40.7 percent (11-27) from the floor, 22.2 percent (2-9) from three, and 75.0 percent (6-8) from the line in the first half.
Western came out of the break firing on all cylinders, outscoring the Blue Hawks 30-11 to lead by 23, 60-37, with one period to go.
The Bulldogs shot 70.6 percent (12-17) from the field and 50.0 percent (4-8) from three in the third quarter.
UMW led by as many as 27 in the fourth while DSU never got closer than 19 and Western cruised to the 24-point win.
THE OPPOSITION
The Blue Hawks shot 35.3 percent (21-61) from the field, 26.3 percent (5-19) from distance, and 90.0 percent (9-10) from the charity stripe. They earned 35 rebounds, 11 assists, eight steals, and one block. Brae Eneboe led the team with 18 points, followed by J'Ell Garfield with 10. Kyrie Alldredge grabbed a team-high six rebounds while she and Allie Kohn shared the team-lead in assists with three each. Anhelica Shanrock and Sadie Stevenson each posted two steals. Alldredge also swatted the lone block of the game for Dickinson State.
