Bulldog Volleyball Falls to #15 The Master’s 3-0 Saturday

NAMPA, Idaho – The Montana Western volleyball team (1-6) fell 3-0 in a hard-fought contest against #15 The Master's (4-4) Saturday afternoon.

NOTABLES
Antonia Duncan hit a career-best .421 and matched her career-best with nine kills.

Dani Brown's .600 clip was also a career-high.

Four Bulldogs recorded at lead seven kills in the match.

LEADERBOARD

Antonia Duncan, Averi Look, and Savana Warburton shared the team-lead in kills with nine apiece.
Dani Brown hit a game-best .600.
Jayda Ward led the team with 19 assists, followed by Worden with 16.
Warburton landed the lone ace of the match for UMW.
Madisyn Frazier tied for the game-high in digs with 13.
Kennedy Lingenfelter led the game with 4.0 blocks.

MATCH SUMMARY
This was the Bulldogs most tightly-contested match of the season, with all three sets decided by just two points (23-25, 25-27, 23-25). In the opening frame, TMU jumped out to an early lead, but UMW went on a 9-2 run to pull themselves back into the set. The Master's snagged the set to go up 1-0. In the second, the two sides traded the lead four times and were tied nine times before the Mustangs went up 2-0 with the extra-points set win. The third set continued in the same manner before the Bulldogs built up a five-point lead late in the match. TMU battled back, however, to seal the final set win.

SPLIT BOX
The Bulldogs bested TMU in blocks (7-3) and the two sides tied in digs (49-49), but they were narrowly outdone in points (53.0-56.0), kills (45-49), aces (1-4), and assists (43-45).

ON THE HORIZON
Following the I-84 Classic, UMW opens conference play on the road at Valley City State (9/4) and Mayville state (9/5).
