Bulldogs Welcome Big Sky Competition for Montana Western Rodeo

DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western men's and women's rodeo teams compete at home this weekend as they host the Montana Western Rodeo Sept. 25-26. The rodeo will be held at the Beaverhead County Fairgrounds.

SCHEDULE
Friday, Sept. 25
4-6 p.m. MT – Western Welcome Party at Atomic 79
7 p.m. MT – Performance
*Slack for barrel racing will be held immediately after the conclusion of the performance*

Saturday, Sept. 26
8 a.m. MT – Slack
1 p.m. MT – Calcutta at The Den
7 p.m. MT – Short Go

Adults - $15
Kids - $5
UMW Students – Free Entry with Bulldog Card

LOOKING BACK
The Bulldogs had a very successful showing at the Dawson CC rodeo last week. The women's team won the team title while the men's team placed second.

Individually, Western took home both All-Around honors. Luke Garrison won the men's all-around and Tynell McInenly secured the women's title.

UMW also had some single-event wins to wrap up a good weekend. McInenly (goat tying), Garrison and Tate Poppe (team roping), Cade Costello (saddle bronc), and Kassidy Bremner (barrel racing) all finished at the top of their respective events.

BULLDOG ROUNDUP
After two rodeos, the Bulldog women are in first place in the Big Sky Region with 385.0 points. The men's team sits second with 1,280.0 points.

Luke Garrison and Tate Poppe rank first in the region in team roping with 180.0 points.

Kassidy Bremner leads all barrel racers with 240.0 points.

Kenzie Reber is first in the region in the breakaway with 170.0 points.

Tynell McInenly rounds out the event-leaders for UMW with a first-place rank in the goat tying (215.0 points).

THE OPPONENTS
The field consists of eight teams, including Dawson CC, Dickinson State, Miles CC, Montana, Montana State, MSU-Northern, Northwest College, and Montana Western.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Bulldogs travel to first-year Big Sky Region member Dickinson State Oct. 9-10 for the final rodeo of the 2026-27 fall slate.
