Montana Western Volleyball Heads to Rocky Mountain and Carroll

DILLON, Mont. – 
The Montana Western volleyball program (5-11, 4-5 FC) travels to Billings, Mont. Wednesday for a mid-week matchup against Rocky Mountain (3-11, 1-8 FC) before heading to Helena, Mont. Friday to take on Carroll (12-4,7-2 FC).

 IN CASE YOU MISSED IT 
Montana Western split last weekends competition, sweeping MSU-Northern (3-0) before falling to #8 Providence (3-1).
 
Against the Skylights, Savana Warburton paced all players with 13 kills while Averi Look was also in double figures with 10. Warburton also led the game in both attempts (31) and digs (24). Jaiden Perez hit a game-high .643. Jayda Ward (19) and Sophie Worden (18) combined for 37 assists. Madisyn Frazier tied for the game-best with one ace and contributed 21 digs. Kennedy Lingenfelter put up a game-high 6.0 blocks.
 
Against the Argos, Warburton led the team in kills (11) and the game in attempts (54). Lingenfelter topped the team with a .250 clip while also recorded a game-high 7.0 blocks. Worden (21) and Ward (16) posted 37 assists. Frazier, Perez, Warburton, and Ward each tallied one ace. Frazier also led all players with 33 assists.

 BULLDOG BEAT 
The Bulldogs are averaging 12.1 kills, 11.1 assists, 1.2 aces, 16.1 digs, and 1.9 blocks per set in 2026.
 
The team's best tally in kills (63), assists (59), and digs (129) came against Dickinson State. The best hitting percentage came against The Master's (.254) while the highest tally in service aces was at Mayville State (16). UMW reached a season-high 80.0 points against both Mayville State and Valley City State. The Bulldogs season-high 15.0 blocks also came against the Vikings.
 
 MADISYN FRAZIER EARNS FC DEFENDER OF THE WEEK 
Senior libero Madisyn Frazier was tabbed Erck Hotels/ Frontier Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week after standout performances against both MSU-Northern and #8 Providence.
 
Frazier anchored Western's defensive efforts with 7.71 digs per set over seven sets played (54 total digs). She posted 21 digs (7.0 per set) in the Bulldogs' sweep over MSU-Northern while adding four assists and an ace. She then followed that with 33 digs (8.25 digs per set) as Western pushed #8 Providence to four sets. She led the game in digs and tallied four assists and an ace. She also recorded a .976 reception percentage on the weekend.
 
 ALL-AROUND THREAT 
Savana Warburton posted two double doubles while adding five blocks and one ace last weekend. She led the team with 13 kills and a career-high matching 24 digs in the win over MSUN, then paced the team with 11 kills while adding 16 digs against the Argos. Additionally, her 4.0 total blocks against the Argos is a career-best.
 
 TOP-10 TERRITORY 
Madisyn Frazier's career-high 33 digs against Providence puts her tied for 10th all-time in single-match digs in the 25-point rally scoring era.
 
 SETTING UP SHOP AT THE NET 
Antonia Duncan earned a season-best 5.0 blocks against the Argos, marking her fifth game this season with at least 3.0 blocks.
 
 NO FLY ZONE 
Kennedy Lingenfelter tallied 13.0 total blocks on the weekend for an impressive 1.86 blocks per set. She led all players in blocks in both contests, including a season-high 7.0 total blocks against Providence.
 
 EVERYONE DIG IN 
Western's 88 digs against the Argos marks the second-most in a match this season. It is also the third time UMW has eclipsed 80 digs in a match in 2026.
 
 BLOCK PARTY 
The Bulldogs amassed 13.0 blocks against UP for the second-highest block tally of the season. Moreover, it is the fourth game this season that the team has put up double figures in blocks.
 
 NO WAY THROUGH 
The Bulldogs held both MSU-Northern and Providence under a .100 hitting percentage as a team. The Skylights hit just .038 while the eight-ranked Argos were held to .068. It marked the lowest team hitting percentage of the season for both teams.  
 
 SCOUTING REPORT 
Rocky Mountain (3-11, 1-8 FC)
  • The Battlin' Bears are posting 11.2 kills, 9.9 assists, 0.9 aces, 17.1 digs, and 1.6 blocks per set.
  • As a team, Rocky Mountain ranks 16th in the nation in digs per set (17.1).
  • Sadie Meier paces the team at 2.42 kills per set, followed by Olivia Fauth (1.94) and Josie West (1.94).
  • Kaitlyn Wood is hitting a team-high .289.
  • Kristyn Mentink (4.51) and Rylee McMillan (3.81) top the team in assists.
  • McMillan has earned a team-best 13 service aces.
  • Zoey Albert is putting up a team-high 4.81 digs per set.
  • Wood leads with 35.0 blocks on the year.
 
Carroll (12-4, 7-2 FC)
  • The Fighting Saints are averaging 12.9 kills, 12.2 assists, 1.7 aces, 16.8 digs, and 1.3 blocks per set in 2026.  
  • Nationally, Carroll ranks 15th in assists per set (12.2) and 23rd in kills per set (12.9).
  • Lauren Heuiser paces the team with 3.18 kills per set with Birdie Heuiser close behind at 3.06.
  • Birdie Heuiser is hitting a team-high .340.
  • Lauren Fox (5.41) and Jansyn Carrizales (4.67) top the team in assists.
  • Fox also leads with team with 21 aces on the year.
  • Norah Allen is posting a team-best 3.3 digs per set while Lauren Heuiser leads with 37.0 total blocks.
 
 SERIES HISTORY 
The Bulldogs are 61-62 all-time against against the Battlin' Bears and 39-116 all-time against the Fighting Saints.
 
 ON THE HORIZON 
Western returns home for a three-game slate next week as it plays host to Montana Tech (10/9), Mayville State (10/9), and Valley City State (10/10).
