UMW Cross Country Opens 2026 Season at MSU Bobcat Twilight

DILLON, Mont. – For the third-straight year, the Montana Western men's and women's cross-country teams will kick off their seasons at the MSU Bobcat Twilight meet in Bozeman, Mont. The race will be held at Dyche field.

LAST TIME AT….
At last years iteration of the meet the men's team placed fifth and the women's eighth.

UMW senior Olivia Heiner clocked a 20:58.4 to as the top Bulldog finisher for the women, placing 46th

Harrison Silverio was the top men's finisher with a 17:22.6 to finish 50th.

LEADING THE WAY
The Bulldogs returned 10 runners from the 2025 squad.
Seniors Kreg Butler, Olivia Heiner, Brody Henry, and Justene Santi will lead UMW for their final season.

Noah Rovente and Kylee Wyatt returns for their junior campaigns while Mason Lynch, Cael Thilmony, and Tristan Von Bargen are back for their sophomore seasons. Tiara Norris will race in the Red and Black for the first time this season after sitting out the 2025 campaign through injury.

FRESH FACES
Western added strength to the team with two transfers and12 freshmen. Dillon, Mont., native Abbi Lemelin is back home for her junior season after two years at Concordia Moorhead. Redshirt-freshman Kaelyn Sangray transferred to UMW after one year at MSU-Billings.

Cadence Cameron, Taylor Gable, Madison Lohmeyer, Wrennie McGarr, Shaelee Novak, and Natalee Stevens are all set for their debut seasons with the Bulldogs women's team. The men's team added Taylor Graham, Gavin Jasper, Silas Kaluza, Blake Olson, Michael Reistroffer, and Ryker Zuffelato.

ON THE START LINE
Competing on the women's side for Montana Western are Cadence Cameron, Taylor Gable, Abbi Lemelin, Madison Lohmeyer, SheaLee Novak, Kaelyn Sangray, Justene Santi, Natalee Stevens, and Kylee Wyatt. Tiara Norris will run unattached.

For the men's team, Kreg Butler, Brody Henry, Gavin Jasper, Mason Lynch, Noah Rovente, Cael Thilmony, Tristan Von Bargen, and Ryker Zuffelato will take to the course.

MEET THE COMPETITION
The field features 11 teams including Carroll, Dawson CC, Montana, Montana State, Montana Tech, MSU-Billings, MSU-Northern, Providence, Rocky Mountain, Williston State, and Western.

LOOKING AHEAD
Following the meet in Bozeman, The Bulldogs travel to Missoula, Mont. Sept. 18 for the Montana Invite.
