Mary Placzkowski has been a member of the University of Montana Western Athletic Training staff since the fall of 2015. Mary is the primary athletic trainer for the Bulldog cheerleading, rodeo, and volleyball programs.
Prior to joining the UMW athletic training staff she served as a head athletic trainer athletic trainer at Calumet College of Saint Josephs in Whiting Indiana for two years. While at CCSJ she provided medical coverage to the 18 varsity sports. In 2013 Placzkowski worked as an athletic trainer at Wittenberg University in Springfield Ohio while providing medical coverage to the women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, women’s soccer, softball, men’s and women’s tennis and volleyball teams. While at Wittenberg, Placzkowski was a part of the Women’s Volleyball 2011 DIII National Tournament Championship team.
Placzkowski earned her B.S. in Kinesiology and Physical Education from University of Maine, Orono, in 2007. She went on to receive her Master of Science, Sports Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2011. Placzkowski is currently working on her doctorate of athletic training (DAT) from the University of Idaho, Moscow.
She is certified in, First Aid/CPR, Positional Release Therapy (PRT-C), Functional Movement System (FMS), and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA).
A native of Boston, Massachusetts Placzkowski enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and training for races (running and triathlons). In addition she enjoys spending time with her husband Paul, and two dogs, Hundy and Shadow.
