The Bulldogs started off the game hot, quickly taking a 14-2 lead. Dom Robinson (Tacoma, Wash.) scored eight points in the opening minutes and the Bulldogs looked like they were going to steamroll the Orediggers.
The Orediggers had other plans. Twice the Bulldogs would build a double digit lead, and the Orediggers would cut it to a single possession. The Bulldogs hung on for the final eight minutes of the second half to escape with victory and for the moment retake sole possession of first place in the conference.
Robinson finished with 20 points, six assists and two steals, Marcus Payne (Livingston, Mont.) scored 16 points, and grabbed eight rebounds. Kooper Kidgell (Billings, Mont.) scored 14 points, corralled five rebounds and had three blocks.Â
The Bulldogs will next face the Lewis-Clark State College Warriors in Lewiston, Idaho on Jan. 28 at 8:30 P.M.
