Story of the Day
The eighth ranked Montana Western Bulldogs opened the 2017-18 season with a dominating 125-65 victory over the Salish Kootenai College Bison Friday night at the Straugh Gymnasium. After a slow start the Bulldogs pulled away for the convincing win. Eight players scored double digits for the Bulldogs, as the mix of returners and newcomers meshed nicely in even playing time, as everybody played over ten minutes. The Bulldogs shot 50 percent from the field and had 25 assists.
Stars of the Game
Junior
Brandon Jones had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds and three assists.
Senior
Marcus Payne led all scorers with 16 points and five rebounds.
Sophomore Derek Durocher came off the bench and hit five shots from behind the arc for 15 points.
Stat of the Game
The Bulldogs out rebounded the Bison 70-35 including 19 offensive side of the glass.
The Bulldogs So Far
The Bulldogs Improved to 1-0 while the Bison dropped to 0-3.
