Bulldogs Sweep St. Francis, and Evergreen State

Story of the Day
The Bulldogs overcame some sloppy play to beat St. Francis University in five sets, 28-26, 15-25, 25-15, 18-25, 15-10. The Offense came out in the second game with 54 kills. Beating The Evergreen State College in four sets, 25-22, 11-25, 25-21, 25-22.

Stars of the Games
Dylan Fowler led the team with 66 digs in nine sets, Madison Richtmyer had 34 assists in four sets played, and Kelsey Potter had 22 kills in nine sets.

Stat of the Games
The Bulldogs committed 58 errors, including 21 ball handling errors, in the first match against St. Francis and were able to reduce that to 46 against evergreen. Overall the Bulldogs played a cleaner game, and had a better offensive showing.

Turning Point
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 10-5 lead in the fifth of the first match. And Freshman Madison Richtmyer provided a spark off the bench in the second game of the night.

Coach Lewis' Thoughts
"We had two hard faught games today, and I was very pleased with their effort. It's the start of a long weekend, so we have to be ready to get back at it in the morning."

The Bulldogs So Far
The games were the second and third of the Season for the Bulldogs, who are now 3-0. The Cougars dropped to 0-2, and the Geoducks dropped to 1-2

Up Next
The Bulldogs travel to Butte this weekend to take part of the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge. They will face Northwest College at 11am and Multnomah at 3pm on Friday Aug. 25, and Dickinson State at 1pm and St. Francis at 5pm on Aug. 26.
