Story of the Day
The University of Montana Western Bulldogs lost in heartbreaking fashion to the Carroll College Fighting Saints in five sets Thursday night (25-19, 25-20, 18-25, 19-25, 13-15). The Bulldogs jumped out to a quick two sets to none lead, only to see the Saints claw their way back for an improbable comeback. Ellen Wolferman (11) Kyra Palmer (12) and Kylie McCree (10) all recorded  double-digit kills for the Bulldogs, who are still looking for their first conference win of the season. 

Stars of the Games
Freshman Karen Kale recorded 22 assists and 16 digs. 
Dylan Fowler leads the conference and is third in the nation in digs per set, recorded 31 digs. 
Kylie McCree hit the ball well recording a 0.25 hitting percentage with 10 kills and a block. 

Stat of the Game
The Bulldogs last defeated Carroll on Oct. 15, 2014, and haven't won in Helena in over a decade. 

The Bulldogs So Far
The Bulldogs drop to 4-12 overall and 0-6 in conference play. While the Fighting Saints improved to 4-3 in the conference and 15-9 overall. 
 
Up Next
The Bulldogs will host Montana State University - Northern on Oct. 6, in the Straugh Gymnasium.  The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
