DILLON, Mont. - The Montana Western Bulldogs (1-0) rolled to an impressive 109-51 season-opening win over Yellowstone Christian (0-3) behind
Max Clark's near triple-double.
In just 23 minutes on the floor, Clark was 11-14 from the field and 4-6 from 3-point range to score 26 points. He added 10 assists, eight rebounds and two steals.
The Bulldogs opened the game on a 12-0 run and never looked back, shooting 61 percent from the field and made 14 three-point shots in the first half.
The Bulldogs were potent from distance, connecting at a 50 percent clip.
Tanner Haverfield was 5-8 to finish with 19 points Clark and
Ky Kouba both went 4-6. Kouba finished with 16 points and nine rebounds in his collegiate debut.
Montana Western held the Centurions to 27 percent shooting, 3 of 28 from 3-point range and had seven blocked shots.
Doug Merida led Yellowstone Christian with 14 points.
The Bulldogs will host Yellowstone Christian again tomorrow, Oct. 23. Tip-off from the Straugh Gymnasium is set for 2 p.m.
