DILLON, Mont. -
Ky Kouba scored 32 points as the Montana Western (2-0) rebounded from a slow start to defeat Yellowstone Christian (0-4) 108-51.
The Bulldogs started the game slow and Yellowstone Christian took an early six point lead. The Centurions kept the pressure on for the first seven minutes. Then Kouba started to heat up. The true freshman showed off the shooters touch connecting on three straight 3-point field goals to give the Bulldogs their first lead of the game at 20-19.
Kouba finished 12-14 from the floor including 8-10 from 3-point range.
Michael Haverfield continued the 3-point barrage, going back-to-back from deep to give the Bulldogs a seven point lead. YCC didn't back down cutting ht Bulldog lead to just two at 29-27. UMW closed out the half on a 18-7 run to take a 47-34 lead at the break.
The Bulldogs came out of the locker room like a team on a mission,
Tanner Haverfield hit consecutive threes and in a flash Western was up 70-40. With a comfortable lead, Kouba didn't let up, adding 11 more points in a less than two minutes to break the 30 point mark.
