DILLON, Mont.—The Montana Western Bulldogs (12-7, 1-3) fell to the MSU-Northern Lights (13-4, 3-1), 68-65.
Both teams matched field goals and 3- pointers in the first half, but with three extra points from the foul line, the Lights led the Bulldogs 36-33 at the half.
The Bulldogs tied up the score 48-48 with 12 minutes left in the second half. The two teams exchanged leads until the final minute of regulation. With 46 seconds left, MSU-Northern's David Harris made a layup to tie the game 65-65. Bulldog
Jamal Stephenson was fouled at the other end of the floor, but missed on the first one-and-one attempt. The Lights made a difficult jump shot and a free-throw to close out the game with a three-point lead.
"[We] have to be ready to bounce back," coach
Mike Larsen said.
