Bulldogs Suffer Loss at Southern Oregon

ASHLAND, Ore. - Montana Western (3-2, 2-4) fell 49-14 at Southern Oregon (3-3, 3-3) on Saturday afternoon at Raider Stadium in Ashland, Oregon. The Bulldogs saw touchdowns from freshman Dylan Shipley and senior Reese Neville, as well as eight tackles from senior Gus Hanson.

How It Happened
The Bulldogs came out first and scored quickly off of a Jon Jund 42-yard touchdown pass to Shipley. The Bulldogs defense forced the Raiders to punt on their first drive of the game after a sack for loss of 7 yards by Jaden Amasiu. The Raiders would put up their first points of the game to tie it at 7 going into the second quarter. Despite the hot start, the Bulldogs were unable to string a scoring drive together for the remainder of the half, while allowing the Raiders to drive the score up another 23 points in the second quarter to bring the score to 30-7 at half.

The second half had a promising start as the Bulldog defense forced a stop. The Bulldogs would then score off of a 6-yard rushing from Neville to bring the score to 30-14. This was the last time the Bulldogs would score in the game, allowing the Raiders to put another 19 points on the board. The Raiders cap off their eighth straight home victory over the Bulldogs with a final score of 49-14.
