Bulldog Men’s Basketball Rolls Past Eastern Oregon in 73-53 Win

DILLON, Mont.— The Bulldog Men's Basketball team finished up 2-0 in the Western Classic after they defeated Eastern Oregon University by a score of 73-53.

"I am really happy with the guy's toughness this week. Two games in two days and only an hour of practice today. We got a really good film session in and they came out ready to go today. We played a tough team that played very unselfishly. But overall, we played really well and finished up with a win." Head Coach Mike Larsen said after the win.

How It Happened
Eastern Oregon opened up by going on a 10-2 run for the first five minutes of the game. A pair of three-pointers from Colter Miller and Brenton Woods snapped the streak, bringing the score back within four points at 12-8. With 12 minutes left in the half, the Bulldog took their first lead of the game off of a layup from Miller at 13-12. They would continue to stretch their lead to 12, their largest of the half, off of a three-pointer from the hands of Ky Kouba. The Mounties pushed back by going on a late run in the half to bring the score to 31-27 at the half.

After a foul allowed the Mounties to hit the first two points of the half, the Bulldogs answered by hitting two straight three-pointers from Tanner and Michael Haverfield. The Bulldogs took another 12-points lead behind a three-pointer from Jamal Stephenson with 13:02 left in the game and never looked back. The Bulldogs took charge of the remaining minutes of the game and won by a score of 73-53.
