DILLON, Mont. — The Bulldog Women's Basketball team rolled past the MSU-Northern Skylights in a Frontier matchup this afternoon by a score of 73-47. The Bulldogs are now 23-4 overall and 11-3 in conference play.
"Our kids did a great job adjusting in the press as the game wore on and were able to make some really good reads in the fourth. I loved how we shared the ball on the offensive end." Head Coach

How It Happened
Closely matched to the start the first, the Bulldogs outscored the Skylights 12-2 across the final four minutes of the quarter. UMW would head into the second quarter up 19-9, led by Jordan Sweeny with six points.
The Skylights jumped back into the game after hitting back to back threes in the first two minutes of the second. Though evenly matched throughout,
Brynley Fitzgerald hit a three to close out UMW's scoring and giving the Bulldogs a lead of 31-23 at the half.
MSU-N cut back into the Bulldog's lead behind a pair of twos from Skylight's Briaunna McCullough. Up by just five, the Bulldogs began to pull away behind a 53.9 percent shooting percentage.
Mesa King,
Emily Cooley, and Sweeney combined to give UMW an 11-point lead heading into the final ten minutes.
The fourth quarter was all Bulldogs as they continued on to outscore the Skylights 26-11 in the fourth to take the win 73-47.
"Today I think we just had a lot of fun. We kept great energy the whole game and we were able to pull away in the fourth because of it! They played us really tough in our other two matchups so I am just really proud of our effort today!" Junior guard

Notables
- The Bulldogs utilized the Skylight's 22 turnovers by scoring 20 points in return. The Skylights scored just seven points off of UMW turnovers.
- UMW outshot MSU-N 43.9 percent to 36.7 percent in the game.
- Brynley Fitzgerald had 22 points, six rebounds, and five steals in tonight's game. She continues to lead the conference in scoring as she is averaging 18.3 points per game.
- Jordan Sweeney had a solid performance after she scored 17 points and picked up three rebounds.
- Mesa King and Shainy Mack each tallied eight points. King was a perfect 4-4 from the field and is ranked second in the nation with a 65.9 percent shooting percentage.

The Bulldogs are back home for their final conference game and for senior night on Feb. 18. They will take on the No. 22 Rocky Mountain College on Saturday Feb. 11 at 2PM MST.
