SURPRISE, Ariz. — The no. 15 ranked Montana Western women's volleyball team (6-2) won their fourth straight match this afternoon after they defeated (RV) Embry Riddle (Ariz.) 3-1.
Jordan Olson led the Bulldogs with a career high 17 kills in the match, topping her previous career high of 13 kills last season. She also added three blocks.
How It Happened
The Bulldogs were hot from the start in set one, raking in 13 points to Embry Riddle's four. Despite the massive 13-4 lead, ERAU found their stride and fought back to bring the game to just one point before Olson ended set one at 25-23.
Down 9-5 at the start of set two,
Peyton Vogl grabbed a kill and
Jazi Smith served an ace that got UMW well on their way to taking their first set lead at 11-9. ERAU re-claimed the lead and took a four-point lead at 18-14 before a UMW timeout helped to get the Bulldogs back on track. They would claim the final four points of the set to win 26-24.
Up 2-0, the Bulldogs continued to battle with the Eagles well into the third frame. With neither team willing to budge,
Jaiden Perez claimed the last point for the Bulldogs to take a narrow one-point lead. The lead was short-lived as ERAU capped off the set at 28-26.
Up by a narrow one-point lead, the Bulldogs began their quest towards closing out the fourth set victory behind the serving arm of
Taylor Ketchum who served back-to-back aces that put UMW in a good position. They would run on to win the set 25-18.
Notables
- UMW extends their win streak over the Eagles to 3-0 in the history of the matchup.
- As a team, the Bulldogs outhit the ERAU .221 to .136 across the match. They also totaled 11 blocks as a team compared to just four from the Eagles.
- Olson's monster game was a career-high and team high of the night. Jazi Smith followed with nine kills, 10 digs, and two aces.
- Megan Hardman recorded a career high of 37 assists in the game, proving to be a whopping 9.25 assists per set.

The Bulldogs move to 6-2 this season and will continue with the OUAZ Invitational tomorrow. They will take on Arizona Christian at 11 a.m. and follow up with Ottawa University Arizona at 2 p.m.
