Bulldog Volleyball Hosts (RV) Carroll and Rocky Mountain for 2025 Home Finale

DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western volleyball team (11-14, 9-9 FC) welcome (RV) Carroll (15-11, 10-8 FC) and Rocky Mountain (2-21, 1-17 FC) to Straugh Gymnasium Friday and Saturday in its final two home games of the 2025 regular season.
 
Saturday's match against the Battlin' Bears will serve as "Senior Night" for the Bulldogs.

 LAST TIME OUT 
The Bulldogs went 1-1 last weekend against two ranked opponents. They fell to #7 Bellevue 3-1 (13-25, 13-25, 25-23, 20-25) Oct. 22 before defeating #24 Dakota State in five sets (21-25, 30-28, 25-14, 18-25, 15-11) Oct. 23.
 
Against the Bruins, Olivia Rosborough led the team with nine kills while Megan Hardman earned a team-best 12 assists and two service aces. Taylor Ketchum recorded a team-high 11 digs and Averi Look posted 4.0 blocks.
 
Against DSU, Look registered 16 kills to lead the Bulldogs. Taylor Petersen handed out a team-best 31 assists while Madisyn Frazier earned a game-high 20 digs. Kennedy Lingenfelter posted a game-best 6.0 blocks. Frazier, Hardman, and Petersen each tallied an ace in the match.
 
 BULLDOG BEAT 
Montana Western has tallied 1,068 kills (11.6 k/s), 992 assists (10.8 a/s), 1,525 digs (16.6 d/s), 198 blocks (2.2 b/s), and 124 service aces (1.3 sa/s) on the year. The team's best tally in kills (71), assists (67), and digs (93) came in its five-set victory at Dickinson State (10/18). The Bulldogs also tied their season high in blocks with 13.0 against the Blue Hawks (also tallied 13.0 blocks at Valley City State Sept. 5). UMW's highest total in service aces is 13, which occurred in the win over Arizona Christian (8/30) and its best single-game hitting percentage was .298 against Bismarck State (9/13).
 
Kennedy Lingenfelter paces the team in kills (196, 2.18 k/s), hitting percentage (.280, minimum 100 attempts), and total blocks (84.0). Jordan Olson leads the Bulldogs in kills per set (2.59) and Jaiden Perez tops the team in blocks per set (1.15). Megan Hardman runs the court with 365 assists (4.68 assists/set) and has landed a team-best 23 services aces. Taylor Ketchum has registered a team-high 365 digs (4.24 digs/set).
 
 WELCOME TO THE BLOCK PARTY 
Two Bulldogs are ranked in the top 10 in the Frontier Conference in blocks per set. Jaiden Perez sits fourth (1.15) and Kennedy Lingenfelter ranks tenth (0.93).
 
 ACCESS DENIED 
UMW ranks fourth in the league in blocks per set (2.15). Moreover, the Bulldogs have registered at least 7.0 blocks in seven of their last 10 matches and 16 times on the year.
 
 SEEING DOUBLE-DOUBLE 
Megan Hardman has tallied a double-double in seven of her last eight appearances for the Bulldogs. The trend began Oct. 3 against MSU-Northern with a 27-dig, 16 assist performance. The six others came against Providence (28 assists, 11 digs), Montana Tech (20 assists, 12 digs), Mayville State (17 assists, 10 digs), Valley City State (18 assists, 10 digs), Dickinson State (27 assists, 10 digs), and Dakota State (25 assists, 14 digs). She now has nine double-doubles on the season.
 
 OFFENSIVE FIREPOWER 
Kennedy Lingenfelter has hit over .300 in seven of her last 10 appearances, highlighted by a .500 clip (11 kills, 22 attempts, zero errors) against Mayville State (10/10). She has reached double-digit kills in six of those.
 
 HITTING HER STRIDE 
Averi Look has led the Bulldogs in kills in three of her last five matches, tallying 12 against Mayville State (10/10), 15 at Bismarck State (10/17), and a season-high 16 against both Dickinson State (10/18) and Dakota State (10/23). She has recorded five double-digit kill performances on the season, all coming in the second half of the campaign.
 
 CAN YOU DIG IT?

 HOW MAY SHE ASSIST YOU? 
Taylor Petersen registered 30 or more assists in three of her last four matches, posting 30 at Bismarck State (10/17), 32 at Dickinson State (10/18), and 31 against Dakota State (10/23).
 
 DIG DEEP 
Four Bulldogs reached double figures in digs against Dakota State. Madisyn Frazier led the game with 20 digs, followed by Taylor Ketchum (19), Savana Warburton (14), and Megan Hardman (14).
 
 THE OPPONENTS 
Carroll (15-11, 10-8 FC)
  • The Fighting Saints are averaging 12.1 kills, 11.4 assists, 19.4 digs, 2.0 blocks, and 1.3 service aces per set in 2025.
  • The team ranks second in the conference and fifth in the nation in digs per set.
  • McKaila Balcom paces Carroll in kills (2.46).
  • Elizabeth Heuiser is hitting a team-best .267 while also leading in blocks (1.06. She ranks sixth in the FC in blocks.
  • Jansyn Carrizales dishes out a team-best 5.42 assists per set, putting her sixth in the Frontier in the category. She also ranks eighth in the league in service aces (29).
  • Sofia Kimmel earns a team-high 3.82 digs per set (eighth in the conference).
 
Rocky Mountain (2-21, 1-17 FC)
  • The Battlin' Bears are averaging 9.7 kills, 9.0 assists, 16.5 digs, 1.4 blocks, and 1.0 service aces per set this season.  
  • Kaitlyn Wood leads the way in kills (137) and kills per set (1.83).
  • Meredith Marsh paces Rocky in assists (4.24) and has landed a team-best 19 service aces.
  • Zoey Albert tops the team and ranks ninth in the Frontier in digs (3.81).
  • Feline Mulder has earned a team-high 59.0 blocks.
 
 SERIES HISTORY 
Western is 27-77 all-time against Carroll. In the first matchup of 2025 between the two sides, the Fighting Saints took the win 3-1 in Helena, Mont.
 
The Bulldogs are 40-60 all-time against the Battlin' Bears. Earlier this season, UMW defeated Rocky 3-0 on the road.
 
 LOOKING AHEAD
