Bulldog Volleyball Competes at MSU-Northern and Providence

DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western volleyball team (13-14, 11-9 FC) travels to (RV) MSU-Northern (15-11, 13-7 FC) and #1 Providence (26-2, 19-1 FC) for its final two matches of the 2025 regular season.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bulldogs closed out their home slate with two wins, defeating (RV) Carroll 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-16, 25-23) and Rocky Mountain 3-2 (29-31, 23-25, 25-19, 29-27, 15-9).
 
Against the Fighting Saints, Averi Look and Kennedy Lingenfelter shared the match-lead with 14 blocks apiece. Taylor Petersen and Megan Hardman dished out 27 and 26 assists, respectively. Madisyn Frazier earned a match-best 31 digs. Lingenfelter also tallied a team-high 4.0 blocks while Petersen and Jayda Ward each landed three service aces.
 
Against Rocky, Dani Brown posted a match-high 17 kills. Hardman racked up 40 assists while Ketchum earned 24 digs, both earning match-bests in the process. Lingenfelter tallied a match-high 10.0 blocks. Ketchum, Hardman, and Petersen each landed two service aces.
 
BULLDOG BEAT
Montana Western has tallied 1,209 kills (12.0 k/s), 1,128 assists (11.2 a/s), 1,725 digs (17.1 d/s), 221.5 blocks (2.19 b/s), and 140 service aces (1.4 sa/s) on the year.
 
The team's best tally in kills (77), assists (73), and blocks (16.5) came in its five-set victory against Rocky (11/1). The Bulldogs tallied a season-high 100 digs against both Carroll (10/31) and RMC (11/1). UMW's highest total in service aces is 13, which occurred in the win over Arizona Christian (8/30) and its best single-game hitting percentage was .298 against Bismarck State (9/13).
 
Kennedy Lingenfelter paces the team in kills (221, 2.23 k/s), hitting percentage (.283, minimum 100 attempts), and total blocks (98.0). Jordan Olson leads the Bulldogs in kills per set (2.54) and Jaiden Perez tops the team in blocks per set (1.15). Megan Hardman runs the court with 431 assists (4.95 assists/set) and has landed a team-best 27 services aces. Taylor Ketchum has registered a team-high 409 digs (4.24 digs/set).
 
ACCESS DENIED
Two Bulldogs are ranked in the top 10 in the Frontier Conference in blocks per set. Jaiden Perez sits fifth (1.15) and Kennedy Lingenfelter ranks ninth (0.99).
 
Additionally, UMW ranks fourth in the league in blocks per set (2.19). The Bulldogs have registered at least 7.0 blocks in seven of their last 10 matches and 18 times on the year.
 
ACEING THE TEST
Western sits fifth in the conference in service aces with 140 on the year (1.4 per set).
 
WELCOME TO THE BLOCK PARTY
UMW earned 16.5 blocks against Rocky Mountain, its highest block total of 2025. It also marked Western's ninth game with double-digit blocks.
 
DIG DEEP
The Bulldogs recorded back-to-back 100-dig performances against Carroll and Rocky Mountain, tying for the season-high. Furthermore, three western players compiled 20 or more digs in the five-set win over RMC: Taylor Ketchum (24), Madisyn Frazier (22), and Morgyn Harrison (20).
 
SEEING DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Megan Hardman has tallied a double-double in nine of her last 10 appearances. She has earned 11 double doubles on the year.
 
OFFENSIVE FIREPOWER
Kennedy Lingenfelter has hit over .300 in seven of her last 10 appearances, highlighted by a .500 clip (11 kills, 22 attempts, zero errors) against Mayville State (10/10). She has reached double-digit kills in six of those.

HOW MAY SHE ASSIST YOU?
Megan Hardman dished out a whopping 40 assists against Rocky Mountain, the highest by any UMW setter on the year.

Madisyn Frazier earned a career-best 31 digs against Carroll. She has tallied 10 double-digit dig performances in 2025, including four in her last five appearances.
 
THE OPPONENTS
(RV) MSU-Northern (15-11, 13-11 FC)
  • The Skylights are averaging 13.0 kills, 12.4 assists, 20.4 digs, 1.4 aces, and 2.0 blocks.
  • As a team, MSU-Northern ranks first the NAIA in digs per set, 12th in total digs (1,959), and 21st in assists per set.
  • In the Frontier, they lead in digs per set, rank third in both assists and service aces, fourth in kills, and fifth in hitting percentage (.188).
  • Macee Selman lead the Skylights and ranks eighth in the conference in kills (2.91). She also paces the team and is seventh in the FC in assists (5.39).
  • Brooklyn Minden tops the team and is third in the Frontier in total service aces (37).
  • Lexi Jones leads MSUN and is second in the conference in blocks (1.22). She also ranks 16th in the nation in total blocks (117) and 21st in blocks per set (1.22).
  • Baily Egan ranks first on the team and third in the FC in digs (5.52). She also ranks 20th in the NAIA in the category and 23rd in total digs (489).
 
#1 Providence (26-2, 19-1 FC)
  • The Argos are averaging 13.7 kills, 12.8 assists, 19.4 digs, 1.3 aces, and 3.0 blocks in 2025.
  • UP leads the nation in blocks per set while ranking third in points (18.1), fourth in total blocks (280), seventh in kills, eighth in assists, and 19th in hitting percentage (.227).
  • In the FC, the Argos lead in blocks and sit second in assists, third in both hitting percentage and kills, and fourth in digs.
  • Cabry Taylor leads the team in both hitting percentage (.319) and blocks per set (1.28). She is third in conference in hitting percentage while leading in blocks. She also sits 10th in the NAIA in blocks and 22nd in total blocks (110).
  • Bella Green leads the Argos and is ninth in the conference in kills per set (2.95).
  • Bella Thompson paces the team while ranking first in the conference and fourth in the nation in assists per set (11.0). She also sits 19th in the country in total assists (959).
  • Kyra Saiers leads the team, is fourth in the league, and 12th in the NAIA in digs per set (5.51).
  • Sadie Giles ranks second on the Argos and 10th in the conference in digs (4.00).
 
SERIES HISTORY
Western is 48-49 all-time against MSU-Northern. Earlier this season, UMW earned the 3-1 victory in Dillon.
 
The Bulldogs are 22-45 all-time against the Argos. In the last matchup between the two sides, Western fell 3-1 at home.
