Montana Western Cross Country Gets Set for Montana Invite

DILLON, Mont. – The UMW cross country teams travel to Missoula, Mont. Friday to compete in the Montana Invite. The women's 5k will kick things off at 5:45 p.m. MT with the men's 8k following at 6:30 p.m. MT.

LAST TIME OUT
The Western men's cross-country team finished fifth and the women's team took eighth at the MSU Bobcat Twilight Aug. 29. Harrison Silverio and Olivia Heiner were the top Bulldog finishers. Silverio clocked a 17:22.6 to finish 50th out of 84 competitors in the men's 5k. Heiner ran a 20:58.4 to take 46th out of 75 runners in the women's 5k.

ON YOUR MARK… SET…
Competing on the women's side for Montana Western are Heiner, Madison Faulkner, Ashley Murnion, Justene Santi, and Kylee Wyatt.

Taking the course for the men's squad are Silverio, Kreg Butler, Brant Heiner, Brody Henry, Mason Lynch, Noah Rovente, Cael Thilmony, Tristan Von Bargen, and Wyatt Yeager

MEET THE COMPETITION
The field consists a mix of NCAA D1, NAIA, and NJCAA programs including Montana, Carroll College, Dawson CC, Idaho, Idaho State, MSU-Northern, Montana Tech, Providence, and Western.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Bulldogs compete again in two weeks, when they travel to Pocatello, Idaho to take part in the Bengal Invitational Oct. 3. The women's race is set to start at 11 a.m. MT with the men's following at 12 p.m. MT.
