UMW Volleyball Clipped 3-0 by #5 Bellevue

BELLEVUE, Neb. – The Montana Western volleyball team (6-8, 4-3 FC) was defeated by #5 Bellevue (10-2, 6-1 FC) 3-0 Saturday afternoon.

"We played two really good teams this weekend and we learned a lot about what we need to improve," Head Coach Katie Lovett said. "We will get back in the gym and back to work on Monday."

MATCH SUMMARY
Bellevue opened the match with a 10-1 scoring run and eventually took set one 25-13. The second frame saw the Bruins once again gain an early lead, taking the second 25-10. The Bulldogs came alive in the final set, trading points with the hosts for the majority of the set. Bellevue managed to pull away right at the end and completed the sweep 25-21.

LEADERBOARD

Jaiden Perez paced UMW in both kills (five) and blocks (two).
Savana Warburton and Taylor Ketchum shared the team lead in digs with six apiece.
Megan Hardman and Taylor Petersen each tallied eight assists.
Madisyn Frazier landed a team-best two aces.

SPLIT BOX
Bellevue held the statistical advantage in kills (43-25), digs (44-31), assists (41-20), blocks (5-4), and aces (15-3).

LOOKING AHEAD
The Bulldogs continue their four-game away trip next weekend when they take on Rocky Mountain (9/25) and (RV) Carroll College (9/26).
