Montana Western Volleyball Travels to Rocky Mountain and (RV) Carroll College

LAST TIME OUT
The Bulldogs had a tough weekend away, falling 3-0 against both (RV) Dakota State (12-25, 21-25, 17-25) and #5 Bellevue (13-25, 10-25, 21-25).
 
At Dakota State, Dani Brown registered a team-high six kills. Megan Hardman dished out a team-best 10 assists. Taylor Ketchum posted nine digs to lead UMW while Hardman landed a team-best three aces. Jaiden Perez earned a game-high five blocks.
 
Against Bellevue, Perez led the team in both kills (five) and blocks (two). Hardman and Taylor Petersen shared the team lead in assists with eight each. Ketchum and Savana Warburton each earned a team-best six digs. Madisyn Frazier paced the Bulldogs in aces with two.
 
BULLDOG BEAT
Montana Western has tallied 519 kills, 482 assists, 718 digs, 103.0 blocks, and 69 aces service aces on the year. The team's best tally in kills (60), assists (59), and service aces (13), came in its five-set victory over Arizona Christian (8/30). UMW earned season highs in digs (83) and blocks (13.0) in its 3-1 win at Valley City State (9/5). They recorded a season-best hitting percentage of .298 against Bismarck State (9/13).
 
Jordan Olson ranks first on the team in kills (113), kills per set (2.46) and total attacks (321). Kennedy Lingenfelter (89) and Dani Brown (70) sit second and third in kills, respectively. Lingenfelter paces the team in hitting percentage (.245) followed by Jaiden Perez (.229). Megan Hardman runs the court with 159 assists (4.3 assists/set) with Taylor Petersen in second at 128 (4.41 assists/set). Hardman has landed a team-best 11 services aces.
 
Defensively, Ketchum has registered a team-high 168 digs, followed by Savana Warburton (103). Ketchum also leads the Bulldogs in digs per set (3.65). Jaiden Perez has tallied 50.5 blocks to lead the team, with Lingenfelter (45.0) Olson (40.0) sitting second and third.
 
WELCOME TO THE BLOCK PARTY
Two Bulldogs are ranked in the top 10 in the Frontier Conference in blocks per set. Jaiden Perez sits fifth (1.11) and Kennedy Lingenfelter ranks tied for sixth (1.00).
 
ACCESS DENIED
UMW ranks second in the league in blocks with 2.24 per set (103.3 total blocks)
 
THE OPPONENTS
Rocky Mountain (0-11, 0-7 FC)
  • The Battlin' Bears are averaging 9.3 kills, 8.8 assists, and 16.6 digs, 1.6 blocks and 1.1 services ace per set.
  • Kaitlyn Wood paces the team in kills (78, 2.11/set) and hitting percentage (.273).
  • Meredith Marsh leads RMC in both assists (147, 3.97/set) and service aces (10).
  • Zoey Albert tops the team with 124 digs (4.28/set).
  • Feline Mulder has earned a team-best 30 blocks (0.81/set).
 
Carroll (9-6, 4-3 FC)
  • The Fighting Saints have averaged 12.3 kills, 11.5 assists, 17.5 digs, 2.3 blocks, and 1.3 service aces per set so far in 2025.
  • Carroll ranks third in the league in blocks and fifth in both assists and digs.
  • Lauren Heuiser leads the team in kills (139, 2.67/set) and shares the lead in service aces (17).
  • Elizabeth Heuiser ranks first in hitting percentage (.271) and blocks (55, 1.10).
  • Jansyn Carrizales has earned a team-best 286 assists (5.5/set) and shares the team-lead in service aces (17).
  • Molly O'Connor tops the team with 181 digs (3.85/set).
  • Carrizales ranks fifth in the FC in assists and E. Heuiser sits fourth in the conference in blocks.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Bulldogs are 39-60 all-time against Rocky. UMW has won the last five matchups between the two, including a 3-2 win in the 2024 Frontier Conference Tournament.
 
Montana Western is 27-76 all-time against Carroll. In the most recent contest, Western walked away with the 3-2 win in Helena.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
Following the weekend, the Bulldogs return to Straugh Gymnasium for five straight home games. Up first, they welcome MSU-Northern Oct. 3. First serve is set for 7 p.m. MT.
