UMW Volleyball Competes at Dakota State and #16 Bellevue

DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western volleyball program (4-8, 3-2 FC) heads to South Dakota and Nebraska this week for matchups against Dakota State (6-4, 3-1 FC) and #16 Bellevue (8-2, 4-0 FC).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Montana Western went 1-2 last week. They bested Dickinson State 3-2 but fell to then-receiving votes Montana Tech (1-3) and Bismarck State (1-3).

Against the Orediggers, Kennedy Lingenfelter led the team with 11 kills and a .474 hitting percentage. Jayda Ward and Sophie Worden combined for 34 assists (18 and 16, respectively). Madisyn Frazier and Savana Warburton each recorded one ace. Frazier and Morgyn Harrison tallied eight digs apiece while Jaiden Perez led the game with 4.0 blocks.

Versus the Blue Hawks, Dani Brown, Antonia Duncan, and Warburton shared the team-lead in kills with 12 each. Averi Look hit a team-high .222. Ward and Worden racked up a combined 55 assists (30 and 25, respectively). Frazier and Ward tallied one ace each. Warburton and Taylor Ketchum paced the team with 24 digs apiece. Perez recorded a game-best 7.0 blocks.

Against the Mystics, Look registered a team-high 14 kills while Olivia Rosborough hit a team-best .333 clip. Ward posted a team-high 25 assists. Ketchum landed a game-best three service aces. Frazier led the team with 19 digs and Lingenfelter earned a game-high 5.0 blocks.

BULLDOG BEAT
The Bulldogs are averaging 11.7 kills, 10.6 assists, 1.2 aces, 15.0 digs, and 1.8 blocks per set in 2026.

The team's best tally in kills (63), assists (59), and digs (129) came last week against Dickinson State. The best hitting percentage came against The Master's (.254) while the highest tally in service aces was at Mayville State (16). UMW reached a season-high 80.0 points against both Mayville State and Valley City State. The Bulldogs season-high 15.0 blocks also came against the Vikings.

WHAT'S THE WORD-EN
Sophie Worden matched her career high with 25 assists against Dickinson State. She also added 10 digs for the second double-double of her career.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE QUEEN
Jayda Ward earned her third and fourth doubles of the season against Dickinson State and Bismarck State. Additionally, her 30 assists and 21 digs against the Blue Hawks are both career-highs.

ALL AROUND IMPACT
Savana Warburton recorded a career-high 60 total attacks against DSU. She led the team in total attacks for the sixth and seventh games in a row against the Blue Hawks and Mystics (36 TA). She also ranks third on the Bulldogs both kills per set (1.98) and digs per set (2.31) and has recorded 11.0 blocks (0.26 per set) on the year.

ACE ACE BABY
Taylor Ketchum registered a career-high three service aces against the Mystics. She is tied for second on the team with six aces in 2026.

A DOZEN FOR DUNCAN
Antonia Duncan earned a career-high 12 kills against Dickinson State. She has tallied double-digit kills in three matches this season.

HEAVY HITTER
Kennedy Lingenfelter has hit over .300 on five occasions this season, including four of the last five outings. She leads Western with a .271 hitting percentage on the year.

BRICK WALL
Jaiden Perez has at least 4.0 blocks in four matches this season. Moreover, she ranks third in the Frontier in blocks per set (1.03) and fifth in total blocks (35).

Five Bulldogs recorded at least 10 kills against the Blue Hawks. Dani Brown, Antonia Duncan, and Savana Warburton led the way with 12 each, followed by Kennedy Lingenfelter (11) and Jaiden Perez (10)

EVERYONE DIG IN
Five UMW players recorded at least 10 digs in the win over DSU, with four earning 20 or more. Taylor Ketchum and Savana Warburton tied for the team-high with 24 apiece while Madisyn Frazier (23), Jayda Ward (21) and Sophie Worden (10) were also in double figures. Moreover, the 129 total digs by the Bulldogs is the highest single-match tally since 2024 when they posted a 134-dig performance against Valley City State (10/10/24).

SCOUTING REPORT
Dakota State (6-4, 3-1 FC)

The Trojans are averaging 12.2 kills, 11.4 assists, 1.5 aces, 15.8 digs, and 1.8 blocks per game.
As a team, Dakota State ranks fifth in the Frontier in points per set (15.55), assists per set (11.4), and kills per set (12.2).
Kaedyn Sapp paces the team with 2.91 kills per set, followed by Tristyn Maras at 2.6.
The pair also ranks first and second in total attacks (278 and 277, respectively).
Lauryn Kloth is hitting a team-high .340 clip and leads the team at 1.03 blocks per set.
Emily Nelson (5.11) and Gabi VanRooyan (4.47) are combining for 9.6 assists per set.
VanRooyan has landed a team-high 14 aces on the year while also leading the team in digs per set (3.8)

Bellevue (8-2, 4-0 FC)

16-ranked Bellevue is posting 12.4 kills, 11.7 assists, 1.6 aces, 16.9 digs, and 2.07 blocks per set on the campaign.
As a team, the Bruins rank first in the FC in blocks per set (2.07). They also sit third in hitting percentage (.203), service aces (1.6), and digs (16.9) and fourth in points per set (16.1), assists per set (11.7), kills (12.4).
Bentlee Kollbaum leads the team with 3.0 kills per set.
A'lailah Perry has registered a team-best 208 attacks, followed by Kollbaum at 200.
Payton Dzingle is hitting a team-high .279.
Mila Aiwahi is dishing out a team-high 5.28 assists per set with Ella Eymann and Victoria Runyan close behind at 4.68 and 4.37, respectively.
Zoie Roghair earns 4.78 digs per set.
Morgan Wale (1.06) and Anabel Berger (1.00) are one and two on the team in blocks.
Eymann leads the team at the service line with 10 aces on the year.

SERIES HISTORY
The Bulldogs are 2-1 all-time against Dakota State and 1-3 all-time against Bellevue.
