MADISON, S.D. – The Montana Western volleyball team (4-9, 3-3 FC) fell to Dakota State (7-4, 4-1 FC) Friday evening.

Madisyn Frazier matched her career high with three aces.

MATCH SUMMARY
The two sides swapped the lead back-and-forth through the opening frame. The hosts pulled away late to take the 1-0 lead with a 25-20 set win. The Bulldogs led for much of the second period, but the Trojans managed to steal the set in extra points, 26-24, for the 2-0 lead. Western jumped out to an early advantage in the final frame, but Dakota State clawed its way back into the lead late in the set. The hosts went on a 7-3 run to claim the set 25-19 and the match 3-0.
SPLIT BOX
The Bulldogs held the statistical advantage in both points (51.0-50.0) and aces (8-2) while the Trojans won the battle in kills (41-38), blocks (7-5), assists (38-37), and digs (55-49).
DAKOTA STATE
Kaedyn Sapp led the game with 12 kills while Emily Nelson hit a game-best .462. Nelson and Gabi Borresen combined for 32 assists (16 each). Nelson and Reagan VanRooyan each registered one ace. Lauryn Kloth swatted a game-high four blocks. Kate VamRooyan recorded 12 digs.
