Bulldog Women’s XC Places Fifth, Men Take Seventh at MSU Bobcat Twilight

Bozeman, Mont. – The Montana Western cross-country teams opened their season at the MSU Bobcat Twilight meet in Bozeman Friday evening. The women's team earned a fifth-place finish while the men's team came in seventh.

Natalee Stevens was the top Bulldog finisher on the women's side, clocking a 20:10.7 to place 20th out of 71 runners.

Cael Thilmony finished 44th out of 92 runners to top the UMW men's team with a 16:58.1.

Justene Santi (20:26.6, 29th), SheaLee Novak (21:03.5, 44th), Madison Lohmeyer (21:36.9, 48th), Cadence Cameron (22:25.3, 54th), Kaelyn Sangray (23:12.6, 61st), Abbi Lemelin (23:20.4, 62nd), Taylor Gable (23:56.8, 64th), and Kylee Wyatt (29:08.6, 71st) round out Western's women's finishers.

Stevens, Santi, and Novak all finished within one minute of each other, showcasing the team's potential for the rest of the season.

Ryker Zuffelato (17:05.3, 52nd), Brody Henry (17:06.4, 53rd), Gavin Jasper (17:58.6, 69th), Noah Rovente (18:03.1, 71st), Tristan Von Bargen (18:09.7, 73rd), Kreg Butler (18:49.0, 78th), and Mason Lynch (19:43.0, 85th) also crossed the finish line for the men's team.

Thilmony, Zuffelato, and Henry had a less than 10-second spread between them, demonstrating a team-focused effort.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Bulldogs take to the course again Sept. 18 when they head to Missoula, Mont., to compete in the Montana Invite.
