UMW Volleyball Travels to (RV) Montana Tech, Plays Host to Dickinson State and Bismarck State

DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western volleyball team (3-6, 2-0 FC) has a busy week ahead as the Bulldogs compete at (RV) Montana Tech (7-1, 2-0 FC) Wednesday before returning to Straugh Gymnasium to welcome Dickinson State (2-8, 1-2 FC) and Bismarck State (2-6, 0-3 FC) Friday and Saturday.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Montana Western opened league play 2-0 after back-to-back five-set victories over Valley City State (20-25, 23-25, 29-27, 25-21, 1512) and Mayville State (25-17, 24-26, 25-13, 13-15, 15-9) last week.

Against the Vikings, Savana Warburton led the team with 14 kills. Jaiden Perez led the game with a .412 clip while Olivia Rosborough hit .400. Sophie Worden and Jayda Ward combined for 50 assists (25 apiece). Ward, Madisyn Frazier, and Taylor Ketchum each earned one ace. Perez tallied a game-best 8.0 blocks and Madisyn Frazier registered a game-high in digs with 16.

Against the Comets, Averi Look led the game in kills (17) and Kennedy Lingenfelter hit a game-bet .381. Worden and Ward combined for 49 assists (22 and 27, respectively). Perez landed a game-high five service aces and tied for the game-lead in blocks with 3.0. Frazier once again led all players with 30 digs.

BULLDOG BEAT
The Bulldogs are averaging 11.5 kills, 10.3 assists, 1.4 aces, 13.2 digs, and 1.8 blocks per set in 2026.

The team's best tally in kills (62), assists (55), and total blocks (15.0), came against Valley City State. Their highest points total (80.0) was achieved against both the Vikings and Mayville State. UMW also recorded season highs in aces (16) and digs (84) against the Comets. The Bulldogs hit a season-best .254 against The Master's.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE WHAMMY
Sophomore setter Jayda Ward tallied her second double-double of the season with 25 assists and 10 digs at Valley City State.

DIG DEEP
Madisyn Frazier led the Bulldogs in digs in both matches last weekend. Additionally, she was one dig away from matching her career high after a 30-performance against Mayville State

17 FOR OUR NO. 17
Averi Look posted a career-high 17 kills against MSU. Moreover, it was her third double-digit kill performance of the season.

SHE'S A SAV-ANT
Savana Warburton posted a career-high 14 kills against the Vikings. She led the Bulldogs in kills in that match while also posting team highs in total attacks in both contests (45 against VCSU, 37 against MSU)

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE
Jaiden Perez and Morgyn Harrison both registered career highs in aces against Mayville State. Perez led all players with five with Harrison close behind at four.

TWO-WAY THREAT
Antonia Duncan tallied a career-high with 6.0 total blocks against the Vikings while also matching her career high in kills with 11.

CAN'T RESIST THE ASSIST
Both Sophie Worden and Jayda Ward earned career highs in assists over the weekend. Worden posted a career-best 25 against VCSU and Ward followed that up with a career-high 27 against the Comets.

FEELIN' FINE AT THE SERVICE LINE
The Bulldogs landed 16 service aces against MSU, marking the highest ace total in the last 10 seasons.

WELCOME TO THE BLOCK PARTY
Western recorded 15.0 total blocks against the Vikings. It is the highest tally since reaching 16.5 against Rocky Mountain on 11/1/25.

Head Coach Katie Lovett returns for her eighth year at the helm. She is joined by assistant coaches Madison Richtmyer (fourth season), Payton Spoja (first season), and Jazi Smith (first season).

SCOUTING REPORT
(RV) Montana Tech (7-1, 2-0 FC)

The Orediggers are averaging 13.4 kills, 11.6 assists, 2.0 aces, 13.8 digs, and 1.9 blocks per set.
As a team, Montana Tech is ranked second in the NAIA in hitting percentage (.290), 10th in kills per set (13.4), 13th in solo blocks (37), and 14th in points per set (17.4)
Halle Moomaw leads the team with 3.16 kills per set, followed by Payton Treadwell at 3.10.
Treadwill tops the team in total attacks (257).
Madison Biery leads the team and is second in the nation in hitting percentage (.475).
Moomaw ranks 23rd in the NAIA in hitting percentage at .367.
Rhys Layton is earning a team-high 8.00 assists per set.
Brooklynn Hayes (16) and Austin Long (13) are first and second in service aces, respectively.
Hayes also leads Montana Tech in digs per set (3.81).
Biery has registered a team-best 26.0 blocks.

Dickinson State (2-8, 1-2 FC)

The Blue Hawks are posting 10.9 kills, 9.7 assists, 1.3 aces, 16.1 digs, and 1.6 blocks per set in 2026.
Aubrey Allison paces the team with 2.74 kills per set, with Carmen Pallon close behind at 2.34.
The duo also ranks first and second in total attacks (352 and 252, respectively).
Rylee Kogolshak is hitting a team-best .282 clip while also leading DSU in assists (8.66 per set).
Paige Rose has recorded a team-high 10 aces on the year.
Rose also leads Dickinson State with 4.63 digs per set.
Pallone has tallied a team-high 26.0 blocks.

Bismarck State (2-6, 0-3 FC)

The Mystics are averaging 11.2 kills, 10.3 assists, 1.8 aces, 14.3 digs, and 1.8 blocks per set on the year.
Reese Duchsherer tops the team in kills per set (3.38) followed by Ashlee Stranger (2.50).
The pair also rank first and second in total attacks (327 and 184, respectively).
Ellie Baumstarck is hitting a team-high .302.
Aislyn Hogan is dishing out a team-best 9.09 assists per set. She ranks 20th in the NAIA in the category.
Aubrey Flynn has landed 14 service aces to lead all Mystics.
Piper Harris is averaging a team-high 4.31 digs per set.
Hogan and Summer Thomas share the team-lead in blocks with 21.0 apiece.

SERIES HISTORY
The Bulldogs are 47-122 all-time against Montana Tech, 26-8 all-time against Dickinson State, and 1-2 all-time against Bismarck State.
