Story of the Day
The University of Montana Western Bulldogs fell to the sharp shooting Vanguard University Lions 85-56 Sunday. The Lions shot 45 percent from beyond the arc to blow out the Bulldogs in the second game of the Cactus Classic in Chandler, Ariz. The Bulldogs and Lions battled through the opening 20 minutes, with Vanguard holding a slim advantage at the break, Then the proverbial lid came off the basket for the Lions and they couldn't miss. The Lions made eight 3-point shots in the second half, five of which came on consecutive possessions during a two-minute stretch midway through the second half to break open the game. The Bulldogs didn't have an answer for the Lions and shot just 31 percent for the game. 

Stars of the Game
Troy Scott scored 13 points and grabbed three rebounds.
Kooper Kidgell scored 11 points and grabbed four rebounds. 
Jaycob Payne almost recorded a double-double, scoring eight points and pulling down nine rebounds.

Vanguard shot 15-33 from 3-point range while the Bulldogs made just six of 24 attempts.
