Dillon, Mont. – The University of Montana Western head volleyball coach Katie Lovett has announced the signing of three student-athletes to an NAIA Letter's of Intent for the 2020 season.
Kaiah Moore (5-8 – Outside Hitter – Whitefish, Mont.)
Kaiah is an outside hitter from Whitefish, Mont. and will graduate this spring from Whitefish High School. As a senior, she was named first-team all-conference and first-team all-state, and second-team all-conference as a junior. She totaled 286 kills and 340 digs for 2.3 kills and 2.7 digs a set and was named MaxPreps/AVCA – Player of the Week for Montana on October 10th 2019.
"We are very excited to have Kaiah on our roster next year. Her athleticism and competitive drive are standout attributes that Kaiah has. She brings depth to our offense and will be able to contribute on the defensive end as well. She has a no-quit attitude and will do whatever it takes to elevate her play"
Abbey Schwager (5-8 – Setter – Boise, Idaho)
Abbey is a 2017 graduate on Timberline High School where she was a three-time letter winner and was first-team all-conference. She will join the Bulldogs for her senior season after spending time at Walla Walla Community College and Concordia of Portland. While at Concordia she was third on the team with 198 assists and averaged nearly four a set. She reached double-figures in assists 11 times and digs three times. At Walla Walla, she was second-team All-NWAC received numerous NWAC setter of the week awards and was one of two AVCA "players to watch" in the NWAC
"Abbey had to go through a very unique and tough situation with Concordia closing, but she knew she wanted to finish out playing her senior season. Abby had awesome recommendations from some great coaches and I knew she would be a great addition to our team. I am looking forward to seeing how Abbey's leadership on the court brings out a new level to our team."
Peyton Vogl (6-0 – Middle Blocker/Outside Hitter – Townsend, Mont.)
Peyton is a middle blocker and outside hitter from Townsend, Mont. and will graduate this spring from Broadwater High School. Her senior season recorded 456 kills, 117 blocks, 339 digs and was named first-team all-state and first-team all-conference. She helped lead the Bulldogs to the 5B Championship and a third-place finish at southern divisionals. As a junior she recorded 223 kills and was named second-team all-conference.
"Peyton has a great blocking mentality and can read the offense of opposing teams well. She can play at a number of different positions in the front row and will give us multiple options offensively. Peyton will help continue the success of this program year after year."
