DICKINSON, N.D.—The Montana Western Bulldogs (8-3) started their weekend with a 17-point win over the Dickinson State Blue Hawks (N.D.) (0-6), 88-71.
The Bulldogs started strong, scoring consecutively on the first five possessions of the game. The Blue Hawks slowly answered, building their score as Montana Western struggled to grab a bucket. This trend continued until the final five minutes of the first; the Bulldogs went on an 11-point run to finish the half, while the Blue Hawks only matched two points.
With a 16-point lead to start the second (47-31), the Bulldogs continued to extend their lead throughout the half. Montana Western held Dickinson State the entire game with no lead changes.
"The guys came ready to play tonight!" coach
Mike Larsen said. "They played as a team and played extremely hard for 40 minutes. I'm very proud of them, especially after seeing Max go down—it was a true team win."

- The Bulldogs shot an impressive 55 percent from the arc, scoring 48 points off 3-pointers alone; Bulldog defense held the Blue Hawks to just 33 percent shooting from the field.

The Bulldogs play tomorrow against Dakota Wesleyan University in the Milanovich Classic at 5 p.m.
