CHANDLER, Ariz.—The Montana Western Bulldogs (10-6, 0-2) couldn't hold the Ottawa Spirit (10-4, 2-3) in their second matchup of the Cactus Classic.
Ottawa only led the Bulldogs by four points at the half. Montana Western dropped six 3-pointers in the first half compared to the Spirit's three, but Ottawa scored twice as many points in the paint than the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs shot 46 percent from the field and 50 percent from the 3-point line, but compared to the Spirit, they lacked in scoring in the paint, converting turnovers into points, and grabbing rebounds.
