DILLON, Mont. –The Montana Western Bulldogs (15-10, 4-6) finished out their week with a conference win over the Battlin' Bears of Rocky (10-12, 3-7), 81-65.
The Battlin' Bears went on a 7-0 run for the first four minutes of play. Montana Western quickly caught up with some hot shooting--54 percent from the field (15-28) and 63 percent from the arc (5-8). The Bulldogs led Rocky 38-35 at the half.
Montana Western's hot shooting didn't end after the first half—they went 62 percent from the field and 53 percent from the 3-point line in the second. The Bulldogs drained eight 3-pointers in the second compared to the Battlin' Bears' three.
"It was a great win for the guys," coach
Mike Larsen said. "I'm really happy how they shared the ball and how unselfish they were."
