HELENA, Mont.—The Montana Western Bulldogs (15-12, 4-8) dropped their final regular season matchup against the No. 12 Saints of Carroll College (24-3, 10-2), 66-54.
There was one dominant leader for each team in the first half—
Jalen Hodges for the Bulldogs and Jovan Sljivancanin for the Saints. Hodges grabbed seven rebounds and scored 16 points in the first half on 6-11 shooting from the field and 4-5 from the foul line. Sljivancanin put 20 points on the board, along with six rebounds and three assists. The Saints led for most of the half, only letting the Bulldogs come within four points with about six minutes left in play. Carroll extended their lead to 39-27 by the half.
The Saints continued to lead the Bulldogs throughout the second half. Both teams scored 27 points; the Bulldogs were 32 percent from the field (9-28) and 25 percent from the 3-point line (3-12) and the Saints were 28 percent from the field (9-32) and 13 percent from the arc (1-8).
Inside the Box Score
- The Bulldogs made five 3-pointers (5-25; 20 percent); the Saints went 4-19 from the arc (21 percent).
- Hodges led the Bulldogs with 20 points and nine rebounds.
- Jamal Stephenson and Tanner Haverfield each had two assists.
- Carroll's Sljivancanin tallied 29 points and nine rebounds.
