Bulldog Track Gets Going in Missoula

MISSOULA, Mont. - The Bulldog Track team opened the season at the Al Manuel invite this past Saturday, in Missoula. 

On the men's side, Jonathan Harrison won his heat in the 800m with a time of 1:55.48. With the altitude conversion, that gives him an official time of 1:55.15, sitting at the 17th best time currently in the nation, and just a second off the NAIA B standard. Joe Lamb ran the 1500m in a time of 4:10.21, a new PR. Freshman, Isaiah Powell just missed his PR in the 400m, running 53.17.  

The women had strong performances as well, Liz Varner ran a PR in the 5000m, racing to a 19:30.32, teammate Mason Baseley also ran the event and finished with a 20:23.33. Capree Daniels ran in the 800m to open up her season. 

"I'm very excited by how competitive we were in our first meet of the outdoor season," said head coach Dylan Zitzner. "I think it indicates how well we have been training this winter, and I'm looking forward to everyone racing in Billings next Saturday," added Zitzner.
