Harrison Qualifies for NAIA Indoor National Meet at Big Sky Tuner

Bozeman, Mont. - The Montana Western indoor track team finished their indoor season today with the Big Sky Tuner in Bozeman, Mont. Jonathan Harrison set a personal best in the 3000m, while also qualifying for the NAIA Indoor National Meet after placing third in the 800m.  

"It was awesome to see Jonathan get back to his standard from cross country and qualify again. We had a couple standout freshman today. Marissa in the 200m and both Will and Harrison set great PRs in the 3000m." Head Coach Dylan Zitzer said after the meet.

Jonathan Harrison qualified to compete in the men's 800m after he ran a 1:54.43 and becoming the highest Frontier placer in the meet in third place in a field of 16.

Marissa Martindale competed in the women's 200m and recorded a personal best with a 28.10. She placed sixth in a field of 10 competitors. She also competed in the women's long jump where she recorded a 4.83m.

Harrison Silverio ran a 9:18.82 and was the highest placing Bulldog in the men's 3000m after he took 13th. Will Hyatt ran a personal best with a 9:29.88 and a 19th place finish. Luke Lutz (21st, 9:34.44) and Brant Heiner (22nd, 9:36.57) also ran in the men's 3000m.

In the women's mile run, Araceli Ramirez led the way for the Bulldogs after she placed 10th and ran it in 5:39.68. Mason Baseley finished just behind Ramirez in 11th with a time of 5:40.31.

Taya Brewer led the Bulldogs in the women's 3000m run after she placed 6th with an 11:17.60. Morgan Baseley finished just behind in 7th with an 11:21.22. Liz Varner (12th, 11:48.37), Cecily Eagleton (14th, 11:53.02), and Tahja Hunt (17th, 13:44.19) finished up the women's 3000m run for the Bulldogs.

Harrison will be preparing for the NAIA Indoor National Meet that will be held in Brookings, S.D. at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex on Mar. 2 through 4.

The Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field teams will now be getting back to business preparing for the Yellowjackets Open in Billings, Mont. on Mar. 25.
