Bulldogs Set Individual and School Marks at Frontier Conference Championships

BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana Western Track & Field finished the Frontier Conference Championships this week. Luke Lutz went on to break the Men's 10,000m school record (as of 2017) in the meet and place third in the race.

"I am very proud of the meet we put together, we competed hard across the board. We set a lot of personal bests and raced really well overall. Can't wait to see what the future brings for this group." Head Coach Dylan Zitzer said after the meet.

Day 1 Results
Luke Lutz broke the Men's 10,000m school record (as of 2017) with a time of 32:41.

Araceli Ramirez and Mason Baseley competed in the Women's 1500m run. Ramirez recorded a time of 5:07.66 and placed 2nd overall. Baseley finished in 4th after running the race in a time of 5:09.35 and set a personal best in the race.

In the Women's 10,000m run, Taya Brewer placed 3rd place with a time of 39:55.82.

On the Men's side, three Bulldogs finished in the top 10 of the Men's 1500m run. Joe Lamb placed 4th with a time of 4:11.54, Will Hyatt finished in 5th place with a time of 4:16.61, and Carlin Onstad finished in 10th with a time of 4:39.71.

Brant Heiner also competed in the Men's 10,000m race and finished in 7th with a time of 34:12.39.

Day 2 Results
Ramirez had a two second personal record in the 800m race with a time of 2:27.17 and a 6th place finish. Mason Baseley also competed in the 800m run with a time of 2:33.20 and an 11th place finish.

In the Women's 5000m race, Brewer finished in 4th with a time of 19:16.02. Morgan Baseley followed closely behind with a time of 19:35.70 to finish in 5th and record her own personal best. Liz Varner (7th, 19:44.74), Cecily Eagleton (14th, 20:58.47), and Tahja Hunt (16th, 22:28.22) also ran in the race.

In the Women's 4x400m relay, Baseley, Eagleton, Ramirez, and Brewer finished with a time of 4:52.83.

On the Men's side, Lamb competed in the Men's 800m run and finished in 11th with a time of 2:09.30.

Five Bulldog men ran in the 5000m race. Harrison Silverio finished in 6th with a time of 15:45.05. Lutz (9th, 16:01.73), Hyatt (10th, 16:04.89), Heiner (13th, 16:27.81), and Onstad (18th, 17:26.66) all competed in the race.

Up Next
The team will aim to recover quickly and continue to train before they head to Bozeman to compete in the Tom Gage Classic on May 5th for the last meet of the season and final chance for the Bulldogs to qualify for the national meet.
