Bulldog Volleyball Clipped by Bismarck State 3-2 Friday

BISMARCK, N.D. – The Montana Western volleyball team (9-13, 7- 8 FC) fell to Bismarck State (4-16, 2-13 FC) in five sets (25-17, 25-20, 24-26, 22-25, 14-16) Friday evening in Bismarck, N.D.

NOTABLES
Taylor Petersen recorded her second double-double of the season (30 assists, 10 digs).

Three Bulldogs hit at least .300 in the game, with a minimum of 10 attempts (Olivia Rosborough-.348, Kennedy Lingenfelter-.333, Averi Look-.300).

MATCH SUMMARY
UMW took care of business in the first two sets, quickly going up 2-0 with 25-17 and 25-20 wins. The hosts found their footing in the third, pulling one back with a 26-24 victory in the third. The fourth frame was also a nailbiter, with the Mystics narrowly edging the Bulldogs 25-22. The final set was close all the way through, and BSC managed the extra point 16-14 win to complete the win.

LEADERBOARD

Averi Look led the Bulldogs with 15 kills, followed by Dani Brown (11) and Olivia Rosborough (10).
Taylor Petersen ran the offense with a season-high 30 assists.
Taylor Ketchum tallied a game-best 19 digs, with Morgyn Harrison and Peterson also in double figures at 15 and 10 digs, respectively.
Rosborough earned a game-high 6.0 blocks.
Ketchum and Harrison each tallied two aces to lead UMW

SPLIT BOX
Montana Western outdid Bismarck State in kills (59-55), assists (54-53), and blocks (9-5), but were bested in digs (68-71) and service aces (7-9).

The Bulldogs continue their two-game road trip tomorrow when they face off against Dickinson State. First serve is set for 12 p.m. MT/ 1 p.m. CT.
