Bulldog Volleyball Completes Reverse Sweep Over Rocky Mountain, Wins 3-2

DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western volleyball team (13-14, 11-9 FC) completed the come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Rocky Mountain (2-23, 1-19 FC) Saturday evening on "Senior Night".
 
"First off, I want to say thank you to this group of seniors who have been part of this program growing into what it is today," head coach Katie Lovett said. "It was great getting to cap off senior night with a hard-fought win. Not everything went perfectly, but when it came down to the end the team stepped up in some big-pressure situations. I'm really proud of how they all persevered."
                                                                                                
NOTABLES
Megan Hardman recorded a season-high 40 assists and added 16 digs for her ninth double-double in the last 10 games (11th overall).
 
Four Bulldogs reached double figures in digs, including three with 20 or more.
 
Western earned a season-high 16.5 blocks.
 
MATCH SUMMARY
The visitors struck first in a marathon 31-29 first set. Errors from the Bulldogs allowed Rocky to double their lead with a 25-23 win in frame two. UMW pulled one back with a 25-19 set three victory and evened the score in the fourth 29-27. Western sealed the comeback with a dominant 15-9 final frame.

Montana Western outperformed the Battlin' Bears in nearly every category, including kills (77-47), assists (73-44), digs (100-87), and aces (7-4). The two sides tied 16-16 in blocks.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Bulldogs head out on their final road trip of the regular season, facing (RV) MSU-Northern (11/6) and #1 Providence (11/7).
