MISSOULA, Mont. – The Bulldog track and field team competed at the Al Manual Invitational today, hosted by the University of Montana. It was a full day of action, with several Bulldogs posting strong performances. Both the men's and women's teams finished fourth out of six.
Sprints & Hurdles
Drake Delude set personal bests in both the 100m and 200m, clocking 11.54 and 23.73, respectively. Gracie Yakos recorded a personal record (PR) of 17.20 in the 100m hurdles, while Wade Dahood set a PR in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 16.57. Yakos also competed in the 400m hurdles, achieving another PR at 1:09.73. Erick Piazzola made his season debut in the 400m, securing a PR with a time of 56.31.
Middle & Long-Distance Events
Justene Santi had a strong showing in the 3000m steeplechase, earning a PR of 12:46.30. She also posted a PR in the 400m with a time of 1:12.91. In the men's 800m, Brody Henry placed third with a season-best time of 2:02.95, while Bridger Wheeler earned a PR at 2:17.85. On the women's side, Ruby Smith set a PR in the 800m with a time of 2:39.44, and Olivia Canney shaved nearly nine seconds off her best time, finishing in 2:48.39.
In the men's 1500m, Noah Rovente recorded a PR of 4:17.33, Wheeler added another PR at 4:44.19, Harrison Silverio clocked 4:47.22, Kreg Butler set a PR at 4:52.58, and Carlin Onstad finished in 5:45.76. On the women's side, Smith clocked 5:39.44 for a PR, Canney ran 5:44.22, improving by nearly 19 seconds, and Kylee Wyatt earned a PR of 6:41.34.
Olivia Steadman made a significant improvement in the 5000m, cutting 57 seconds off her previous best to finish in 19:08.69.
Throws & Field Events
Layne Cooney led the Bulldogs in the discus with a PR throw of 46.40m, securing a second-place finish. Carson Bain recorded his best throw of the season at 37.62m, while Justin Maier (34.92m), Landon Darsow (34.65m), and Tad Tackes (34.49m) all posted PRs.
Cooney also set a PR in the men's hammer throw at 36.02m. In the javelin, Sarah Clark made her return to competition with a throw of 28.55m.
In the men's shot put, Cooney led with a throw of 13.60m. DJ Jackson achieved a PR of 11.63m, followed by Bain at 11.43m, Maier with a PR of 10.52m, Darsow at 10.33m, and Tackes at 9.50m. On the women's side, Ellie Stutsman threw 8.96m.
