Bulldog Cross-Country Travels to Montana Invite

DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western men's and women's cross-country teams will head to Missoula, Mont., this Friday (9/18) to compete in the Montana Invite. The meet, hosted by the University of Montana, will be held at the University of Montana Golf Course.

SCHEDULE
Women's 5k – 6:00 p.m. MT
Men's 8k – 6:30 p.m. MT

TURNING BACK TIME
At the 2025 Montana Invite the women's team finished 9th and the men's team finished 7th.

Olivia Heiner was the women's top finisher, placing 42nd of 73 runners with a time of 21:10.3.

The men's top finisher was Brant Heiner, who ran a 27:58.6 to take 49th of 82 competitors.

DEBUT TO REMEMBER
At the MSU Bobcat Twilight meet last week, freshman Natalee Stevens clocked a 20:10.7 to finish 20th. This marks the first Top-20 finisher for Western's women's team since Olivia Heiner placed 13th at the 2024 Montana Invite.

FLEX WORTHY
Cael Thilmony shaved 1 minute and 15 seconds off his PR in the 5k, recording a 16:58.1 at this years' MSU Bobcat Twilight meet. Last season, he posted an 18:13.1 at the same meet.

JUST-ENE TIME
Senior Justene Santi achieved a new PR of 20:26.6 at the 2026 season opener, beating her previous record by 33.5 seconds.

ON CLOUD NINE
Brody Henry clocked a 17:06.3 in the men's 5k last week. It marks a nine-second personal-best in the distance.

C(LOCKED) IN
Noah Rovente ran an 18:03.0 in the 5k at the MSU Bobcat Twilight, smashing his previous PR of 18:14.2.

THE LINEUP
Competing for the women's team in Missoula are Cadence Cameron, Madison Lohmeyer, Tiara Norris. SheaLee Novak, Kaelynn Sangray, Justene Santi, Natalee Stevens, and Kylee Wyatt.

Kreg Butler, Taylor Graham, Brody Henry, Gavin Jasper, Blake Olson, Noah Rovente, Cael Thilmony, Tristan Von Bargen, and Ryker Zuffelato will take to the course for the men's team.

THE OPPOSITION
The field consists of 11 teams including Montana, Carroll, Dawson CC, Eastern Washington, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana State, Montana Tech, MSU-Northern, Providence, and Western.

ON DECK
After the meet in Missoula, the Bulldogs will be on their way to Butte, Mont., for the Butte XC Invitational (9/24), hosted by Montana Tech.
