DILLON, Mont. — In a preseason poll of Frontier Conference volleyball coaches, the Montana Western volleyball team was picked to finish third for the 2023 season.

Despite falling to a tough Rocky Mountain team in the conference tournament championship at the end of the 2022 campaign, the Bulldogs had their first double-digit win season since 2016, finishing up 12-17 overall. The Bulldogs also had their highest winning percentage since the 2005 season when the Bulldogs went 16-13 overall.

Defending regular season champion Montana Tech is the favorite of the Frontier Conference volleyball coaches to win the 2023 conference title, followed by Rocky Mountain College in second. Montana Western finished third in the poll followed by the University of Providence, Carroll College and MSU-Northern. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams.

"We are excited about this upcoming season and the opportunities it holds." Head Coach Katie Lovett stated. "Being ranked first or last does not make any opponent any easier, and with how tough this conference is, you always have to come prepared. This team showed what they are capable of doing last season, and it's our jobs to go out there and continue to show that same heart and drive this season."

First place is worth five points, second place is worth four points, a third place is worth three points, fourth place is worth two points and fifth place is worth one point. Results are listed below.
